The bible has a lot to say about how we should live our lives including how we should eat. In the Old Testament certain foods were strictly prohibited. Eating these foods was a sin. This belief is still held today among orthodox Jews. They only eat “kosher foods” (foods allowed and prepared in the manner prescribed in the Old Testament).
For Christians it is a different matter. In Acts 10:10-16 the apostle Peter had a dream in which he was commanded to eat foods that the Jews held to be unclean. He was informed in the dream that “What God has cleansed, you must not call unclean.” Acts 10:15. Furthermore, Jesus instructed that a man is not defiled by what he puts into his mouth, only by the words that come out of his mouth. Matthew 15:11.
What do you say?
Hello Sister,
ReplyDeleteI am very happy to see that you have started a new blog. Now you and I both are sharing God's Health Message using Blogger.
I am in total agreement that God cares about all things in our lives. He knows the number of hairs on our head. You said once that God even cares if your "shoes match your dress"!
God especially cares about our health and wellbeing and that is why He gave us His Torah. In Leviticus 11 and Deuteronomy 14 we learn of God's Instructions regarding food. Science has even validated this shall we say Levitical Diet Plan. Showing God's Wisdom in all things.
I believe that the Body of Christ is now in a time of revival. A time that was prophesied called the restoration of all things.
Shalom
Well stated David! The church is certainly in a revival! Hearts are being open to Grace as God “Yahveh” intended from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteLife literally changes when we understand who our God REALLY is and how much he cares for ALL aspect of our lives. It takes an open and hungry heart to understand truth.
"Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
“You have not because you ask not” James 4:2
Keep up the good teaching!
Be Blessed!
